Visitor flow reports
Improving your e commerce SEO - Visitor flow charts
One of the most visually friendly reports that I like to use when tracking the performance of a shopping cart are the visitor flow reports. Visitor flow charts show you how visitors are navigating through your site as well as the pages that are being frequently used as exit pages. They can also provide great insight as to how your visitors are reacting to each step of your check out process, this actionable data can then be used to make educated decisions on improving your website or search marketing strategy.
In the image above, there is an example of a visitor flow chart. The default setting is going to show the country or territory of the visitors followed by the pages that they navigate to in chronological order from the first page the used to enter the site to the exit page. If you have a large enough data sample, you can use these reports to make accurate assumptions as to which pages may need some improvement. The volume of visits can be set to any date range aside from the most recent 2 days worth of data (data takes 48 hours to populate).
To access the visitor flow reports simply click on the "Audience" report and then on "Visitors Flow", adjust the data range to a period of your liking and start analyzing. You can use these reports to compare how traffic reports are performing by looking for patterns through out your website in terms of exit paths. You can also analyze the engagement of your website by looking to see how many pages the visitors are navigating to based off of the keyword they used to find you.
For more information on Visitor Flow reports, check out the official Google Support page and search for "Visitors Flow".

Content Reports
Ecommerce seo company - Learn how to use landing page reports.
Knowing which keywords are used to find your website is great information, but knowing which pages are being found via those keywords can also provide some actionable data. By analyzing your content reports you can see which pages have a higher bounce rate than others and apply keywords to the landing pages to get the best of both data sets in one easy to read report. By exporting your data into excel and creating a few easy pivot tables, you can hone in on areas of your site that need improvement. Above we have an example image of a landing page report which can be found under the content section of Google Analytics under the subcategory "Site Content". By applying a secondary dimension of "Keyword" you can assign each keyword that was used to drive a visitor to your website to its corresponding landing page. Having this data can not only provide you with great keyword ideas to incorporate into your SEO campaign but it can also give you ideas as to which pages need attention.
Although the data that is shown in Google Analytics, you can do even more with it when you export into excel. If you want to group the keywords that are being used under categories that are landing page urls for example, you can do so by following these simple steps:
1. Export a landing page report with a secondary dimension of "keyword" into excel.
2. Highlight rows A through B
3. Click the following : Insert > Pivot Table > Click Yes
4. Drag landing page to Row Label
5. Drag Keyword to Row Label.
If you have completed the steps, you should have a nice and neat report showing the URL's to each landing page and the keywords that each landing page was found with by a search engine user. This can help you hone in on keywords that need higher organic placement that perform well according to pages per visit or bounce rate. If you are ranking on position 3 or 4 for a keyword that performs really well, you should probably try and optimize your website so that it ranks in the number one position for those keywords, doing so will increase the amount of high converting visitors to your website. If you have an E commerce shopping site, getting top ranking for product specific keywords can help you save big on PPC advertising as well! Making some tweaks to your on-page according to the keywords you find in your reports can make a world of difference!

Content Report Video
Watch this video for a good overview on how to use and interpret the reports found in the Google Analytics Content reporting module. This is a great place for first time Google Analytics users to become familiar with how the Content section works. Learn how to use the content reports to hone in on areas of your E-commerce SEO campaign that could use some improvement by learning as much as you can about Google Analytics and the many reports it has to offer.
Location Reports
If you know how to use the location reports effectively, you can improve the performance of your e commerce marketing campaign by finding out where your products are being searched for the most. If you sell clothing, you may notice that a lot of your bathing suits are being sold in Florida but hardly any are being sold in New York, logically, you would assume that you shouldn't market bathing suits in New York as aggressively as you would in Florida but if you don't know how to set your campaign accordingly, you can be spending money in the wrong areas with your PPC campaign. Taking a look at your location reports and assigning keywords to those reports can help you make educated decisions on improving our e-commerce SEO campaigns performance.
To view which locations are providing your website with organic traffic you can simply click on the traffic sources tab, then click on the "Sources" sub-category followed by the "Search" sub-category, finally click on organic or paid depending on which subset of traffic you want to analyze. Finally, click on the secondary dimension button and apply "city" as the option. Now you will have a report like the one shown in the image above, a table that shows the keywords and locations that were bringing visitors to your website. Following the same steps from the Content Report explanation on how to use a pivot table with excel can also be helpful with location reports when it comes to organizing your data.
